The Traldaran Empire

The Traldaran Empire

During the chaos at the end of the First Age, the Shogunate attempted to maintain stability from the former seat of the old realm, The Blessed Isle. Too much of the infrastructure of the former Realm was reliant upon the sourcerous might of the Solar Exalted to function; The Shogunate could only hold together so much.

In the confusion of the end of the First Age, and outside of the failing sight of The Shogunate, innumerable small nations arose. Amongst these was a small nation of God-Blooded and their Spirit forbears who called themselves Traldaran. In the three centuries before the coming of the Great Contagion; the Traldaran Nation grew to encompass much of the area now known as The Savage Coast, as well as expanses of the Yazak Stepps, the Savage Baronies and City States which sit on the Gulf of Hule.

As with every bastion of civilisation to have made its claim to that blighted coast, the Traldaran had to contend with the unpredictable aggression of the Blood Kappa and Oni tribes who ply the Vermeil covered plains of La Pampa Rica. Seemingly drawn to the warmth of civilisation, the Kappa tribes began to raid the fledgling nation with increasing, and seemingly unlimited numbers.

To counter these raids the Traldarans hastily built a series of forts within the edge of La Pampa Rica, many of these structures employed matériels from the pervasive remains of Oltec structures. These forts held back the Kappa tribes for many years, but greater forces ensured that their success could not last. In the wake of the Great Contagion and the subsequent surge of The Wyld; the once reassuringly mighty Traldaran Empire had been reduced to nothing more than a memory of greatness, and the echoes of supernatural heritage which persist to this day.
