Curse of the Neverborn's Blood
In Creation there is a god for everything, each river and stream, each road and byway, every city, sword, and mountain range is possessed of its very own god, who’s reason for existence is to guard, nurture, and protect its portfolio. Most of these gods are what are known as “Least Gods”, less than sentient beings who operate within predetermined boundaries.
Gods can be made greater than their origins, their portfolio expanded, and their influences increased through the worship of Mortals.
Gods can interact with Mortals on many levels, whether though the expected means of enlightenment and answered prayers, or through the less expected rout of offspring. Though few deities have the conviction to see through the whole process of carrying a child to term, and make lousy parents anyway, they can see the benefit of having a semi-divine emissary to carry out their business in creation.
